Home EV chargers fitted across Bolton's BL postcodes, from Halliwell and Farnworth out to Horwich and Bromley Cross. Fixed price in writing, Electricity North West notified for you.
7kW from £1,095 fully fitted (single-phase, on-driveway). Half-day install. Certificate + DNO notification handled.
Bolton is about 45 minutes west of our Bradford base over the M62 and M61, and one of the Greater Manchester towns we work in most. The prices are the same as in Bradford — you get the fixed figure up front, with no travel surcharge.
Halliwell, Great Lever, Daubhill and Farnworth are terrace country, and most of those terraces have no off-street parking. A cable trailed across the pavement is not something we will install. Where there is a back yard the car can actually park in, a garage, or a drive, a charger is normally a half-day job. For kerbside-only homes, a permanent cross-pavement channel needs consent from Bolton Council as the highways authority first.
Plenty of older Bolton properties are on a 60A or 80A main fuse. Add a 32A charger to a house with an electric shower and an oven and the sums change. There are two answers: load-limit the charger so it backs off when the house is busy, or upgrade the supply to 100A through the network operator. The upgrade is normally free on a domestic supply but takes a few weeks, so we check the cut-out at the quote stage, not on install day.
Out at Horwich, Bromley Cross and Egerton the houses are often stone-built with longer drives and garages set away from the house. That makes the cable run the main price factor — over about 15 metres or through several walls, expect the £1,350-£1,650 band — and on solid stone we drill straight through and clip the SWA cable neatly outside rather than chasing.
Bolton is Electricity North West territory, not Northern Powergrid as on our Yorkshire jobs. We notify them about the charger and handle any supply upgrade application with them.
From £1,095 fully fitted for a standard 7kW single-phase charger on a driveway, and most installs come in at £1,095-£1,150. Longer or trickier cable runs — over 15 metres, several drilled walls, rendering — push it to £1,350-£1,650. That includes the dedicated cable from your consumer unit, the charger fitted and commissioned, testing, the NAPIT certificate and the network operator notification (Electricity North West in Bolton).
The OZEV grant is £500 per socket. It applies if you rent your home, house or flat, with its own off-street parking; if you own a flat; or if you only have on-street parking and fit a permanent cross-pavement solution with the highways authority's consent. Landlords can claim too. Owner-occupiers of houses are not eligible. We are an OZEV authorised installer (EVHS 14604). Check whether you qualify →
Text photos of your fuse board, meter and the charger location. Free survey for trickier installs.
We check whether you fall under an OZEV scheme and take £500 a socket off where it applies.
Cable run, charger fit, commission, wifi-pair, test. Power off for around 20 minutes during isolation.
NAPIT certificate issued, Electricity North West notified, charger paperwork handed over.
Yes. Bolton is about 45 minutes away over the M62 and M61 and we work there regularly. Our Bolton prices are the same as Bradford: from £1,095 for a standard 7kW driveway install, most jobs £1,095-£1,150.
Only with off-street parking such as a drive, a garage or a yard the car can park in. We will not run a cable across the pavement. Kerbside-only homes need a permanent cross-pavement solution with Bolton Council's consent before any electrical work.
Usually yes. The charger can be load-limited so it reduces its draw when the house is busy, or the supply can be upgraded to 100A by Electricity North West. The upgrade is normally free on a domestic supply but takes a few weeks, so we check it when we quote.
Electricity North West, the network operator for Bolton. We submit the notification and any supply upgrade request for you.
You qualify if you rent your home (house or flat) with its own off-street parking, if you own a flat, or if you have on-street parking with a permanent cross-pavement solution and council consent. Landlords can claim as well. Owner-occupiers of houses are not eligible. Our OZEV installer number is EVHS 14604.
