Dixon Electrical Solutions Ltd is a UK private limited company registered in England, trading as "Dixon Electrical". Bradford, West Yorkshire. Quotes issued in writing are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After 30 days we may need to re-quote depending on materials price changes. Phone estimates are indicative only and become a binding quote only when issued in writing.
The quote is fixed-price for the scope described. If during work we discover something genuinely outside the original scope (e.g. a hidden cable fault not visible at survey), we will explain and quote separately before proceeding — you decide whether to authorise the additional work.
Booking confirmation is by SMS or email. Please ensure clear access to the property and to the consumer unit on the day of work. If we attend an agreed appointment and cannot gain access, a £50 missed-appointment fee may apply.
Domestic work under £500: payment due on completion (cash, bank transfer, or card via SumUp). Domestic work over £500: 30% deposit on booking, balance on completion. Commercial work: 30 days from invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late payment: we apply interest at 8% above Bank of England base rate (Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998) for invoices unpaid after the agreed term.
All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion against defects in installation. Manufacturer warranties on equipment (consumer units, EV chargers, smart-home kit etc.) are passed through to you under the manufacturer's terms — usually 2-5 years depending on product.
NAPIT certificates issued for notifiable work are valid as electrical safety records under Building Regulations Part P. EICRs are valid for the period stated on the certificate (usually 5 years for landlords, 10 years for owner-occupied).
For Part P notifiable domestic work we self-certify under our NAPIT membership. The certificate is registered with NAPIT and your local Building Control automatically; you receive paperwork in the post within a few weeks.
Our liability for any one job is limited to the value of work carried out on that job, except where law prevents such limitation (death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud; statutory rights). We hold public liability insurance — certificate available on request.
We are not liable for: pre-existing faults outside the scope of work; damage caused by other trades or by you after our involvement ends; loss of business or income arising from a domestic repair (this is a domestic-trade limitation; commercial contracts are negotiated separately).
You have a 14-day right to cancel any service contract concluded off our premises (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), unless you have specifically requested we begin work within that period. If you've asked us to begin within 14 days, you may still cancel but you'll pay for work done up to the point of cancellation.
If you're unhappy with our work, email info@m62electrical.co.uk describing the issue. We respond within 5 working days. If we can't resolve it, NAPIT operates an independent dispute-resolution scheme for member work — you can escalate to napit.org.uk.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
